Cederquist represents a consortium led by Bure and Creades in connection with its acquisition of shares in Silex Microsystems
Cederquist advises a consortium of Swedish long-term investors led by Bure and Creades in relation to their entry into an agreement to acquire 48.2 per cent of the shares in Silex Microsystems from the current Chinese shareholder Sai Microelectronics. Other members of the consortium include Grenspecialisten, 3S Invest, SEB-Stiftelsen, and TomEnterprise. Alongside the company’s management, which will collectively own 6.5 per cent of the shares in Silex Microsystems, the consortium will control a majority of the company. The transaction is conditional upon approval from Swedish and Chinese authorities.
Silex Microsystems was established 25 years ago and has since become a world-leading player in the MEMS foundry industry, specialising in process development and production of semiconductors with mechanically movable components. The company’s products have applications in sectors such as medtech, data centres, telecommunications, and manufacturing/automation industries, resulting in a customer base with a broad, global presence. Silex’s headquarters and production facilities are located in Järfälla, near Stockholm, Sweden.
